Activities and Playschemes
Finding an activity group or playscheme in your area can be a great boost for both parents and children. Regularly attending a playscheme is an excellent opportunity to discuss the challenges you are facing with other parents of special needs kids, whilst your child is able to interact with peers in a safe environment. Many groups are set up by parents and are as much support groups as they are learning experiences for your child.
Don't be scared to go along if you're new to an area or just found out about it. The more positive outings and interactions you can get to with your child, the better! Please contact us if you have started a playscheme or know about one that we haven't included, they are so useful for parents of special needs children that we are very keen to expand this section further.
