Passport Information

There are strict new rules on how a passport photograph should look. You must send in two identical photos with your application. If you don't get it right the first time, you may be asked to send in 2 more photos.

For more details about the rules and requirements, visit the official website http://www.passport.gov.uk- However, some people who have disabilities may not be able to have their photograph taken in the required manner. If this is the case, a letter of explanation, sent with the application form for passport, along with photos will be acceptable. It is up to the Passport Office if they decide to accept your explanation. They do have discretion to issue a passport under certain circumstances;
so don't be put off applying.

After 16 - What's New?

I have discovered an excellent website set up by the Family Fund Trust called 'After 16 - What's New?' They have also produced a booklet by the same name.

It is aimed at teenagers and young people in the UK who have an impairment or disability and are wondering what opportunities and services there should be when they leave school.  Parents, carers and professional workers will probably find it very useful also.

The website can be found at www.after16.org.uk and is well worth a visit. A free copy of the booklet is available from Family Fund Trust by calling 01904 621115
